Designed Specifically for Nitriding 

The NRA .. KN series has been developed specifically for gas nitriding, where ammonia (NH3) is used as process gas. Equipped with a nitriding control module, hydrogen sensor and an integrated ammonia dissociator, the furnace ensures precise process control. This guarantees consistent quality and efficient performance, even for demanding heat treatment requirements. 

Safety First 

Gas nitriding requires a high level of safety due to the formation of an ammonia-hydrogen mixture during the process. The NRA .. KN series is equipped with several safety features: 

  • Gas-tight retort: Made of heat-resistant steel, it ensures a secure environment for chemical reactions. As an option, the retort may be manufactured from an Inconel alloy. 
  • Siemens safety PLC (F-PLC): The programmable controller monitors all safety-relevant functions, providing comprehensive process protection. 
  • Safety gas nitrogen: Nitrogen is used as an inert gas to purge the atmosphere inside the retort when needed.

Enhanced Efficiency with Rapid Cooling 

To minimize production times, the NRA .. KN series has an indirect cooling system as standard. This allows the furnace to cool down quickly without affecting the process atmosphere, resulting in shorter cycle times and improved efficiency. Additionally, a direct cooling system with heat exchanger and blower can also be added.
